 OLD, YOUTHFUL FOR OUR AGE,

COUPEVILLE

HAS SHIFTED THE SEASONAL GEARS and THE TREE,

BRILLIANTLY LITE UP COOKS CORNER PARK,

GREENS AND SNOWPEEPS ARE GONE TILL NEXT YEAR

~

HERE’S A LIST OF HOLIDAY THANKS!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THANK YOU !
Charles and Gail Jaeger for their generous donation of the the 20 foot tree we lit at the Holiday Parade.  It shone brightly in front of the Island County Historical Society Museum all season long.   BIG thanks too, to Chuck Poust, Sandy Poust, Janet Burchfield and Sarah Richards (Lavender Wind Farm & Store) for weathering freezing weather while decorating the lovely tree, and dispersing the greens to our down town merchants before the Holiday Parade and Greening of Coupeville!
Thanks to our Executive Director Vickie Chambers, Randy Chambers, Cindy (Aqua Gifts), Dana Olson, and Sandy & Chuck Poust for getting our fresh evergreen wreaths up on our light and telephone poles!
Thanks too, to Randy Chambers for taking the tree down and hauling it away and to Steve Crocker for taking charge of removing the evergreen wreaths!
THANK YOU !
DSC08175To Lynda Eccels and her volunteers at the The Coupeville Chamber, Rick Castellano at the ICHS Museum, and EVERYONE of our members and friends who volunteer each year to produce our Holiday Parade!!!
Every year our holiday parade gets more visitors from on and off island !  We’re a parade kind of town – and what’s more fun and festive than a parade!  We LOVE A PARADE, and anyone who loves one too is a friend of ours!  Thanks for weathering the chill for the thrill!
Many thanks too, to the singers who volunteered to brighten our season singing and leading our town folk and visitors in the holiday carols on the Greening of Coupeville and Parade night!  BEAUTIFUL!
BIG CHILLY THANKS to our Executive Director Vickie Chambers and her husband Randy for hosting a float building and soup night at their home, to construct the FIRST EVER Coupeville Historic Waterfront Association float for the parade!   Vickie, Randy, Cindy & Dana Olson, Marcia Johnson, Paul & Karen Whalen, Gwen Samelson, Chuck & Sandy Poust, and Janet Birchfield huddled in the cold, constructed the float and then enjoyed a dinner of delicious and hearty soup at Vickie and Randy’s lovely (and warm) home!
If you have any photos of the parade – please visit us on facebook and share them.
THANK YOU !
chwa_poster_2013To Beth Kuchynka (bayeaf), Whidbey Island Bank and all of our members who helped to make the 2014 Red Ticket Drawing another great year.  And to the friends and neighbors who joined with us in celebrating the season while shopping in Coupeville. Another rosey year for our winners and merchants!
THANK YOU TO
Please continue shopping, dining and using the services of our business owners in Coupeville throughout the year. They are your friends and neighbors and are grateful for your business, your company and your support of our town!
THANK YOU !
GingerbreadChallengeFlyerColor 2013To our Executive Director Vickie Chambers and her crew of builders who put on the 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Workshop!  2nd year out for this event and it was a huge success AGAIN!  Can’t wait till next year. Who knows a ginger bread house that’s too big to fit in the Library door might be rolled out of the Rec Hall’s double doors.  Great fun!  Thanks to the Library for having the Gingerbread House (building in some cases) Contest!  Residents of all ages really set the stage for a sweet season at the library!  Thanks to the Whidbey Examiner,  Leslie Franzen and all of our wonderful library staff for keeping the light on and providing a space for the Gingerbread Challenge display throughout the holidays.
THANK YOU !
To Major Nancy Conard and the staff of the Public Works Dept for the Town of Coupeville for spending time in the chilly weather decking out Cooks Corner Park with lights for the Greening of Coupeville 2013. Thank too, to those who volunteered to help organized the lighting and kick off of parade, caroling and festivities. WHAT A SIGHT for all to enjoy!  The Coupeville tradition of celebrating the winter holidays – was better than ever!
THANK YOU !
img_7166Lyla Libbey Snover and Phil Snover for taking care of, painting and fostering of the tribe of SnowPeeps – it’s not the holidays in Coupeville without them.  More thanks to Chuck Poust and Gwen Samelson for helping at the SnowPeep Spa, cleaning and manicuring the peeps.
And a BIG HAUL THANKS – to the employees and volunteers from the Town of Coupeville who help deliver and safely attach our SnowPeeps to their stations.
The SnowPeeps are back in their Snow’ver barn, resting up for next year.
