COMMUNITY NEEDS for your philanthropy
June 2021 – Whale Wheel Repair: Coupeville’s iconic hand carved Whale Wheel’s 25 year old beach logs are mysteriously sinking and leaning. A new support has been engineered. Materials and on site archeologist hopefully will not exceed a $2000 dollar estimated budget! Safely give a contribution to this fund through our paypal acct. ALL funds benefit the Whale Wheel’s engineered repair.
Read the history of the current Whale Wheel and past Salmon Wheel (now located in the Island County Historical Society Museum and Archives in Coupeville) visit the Whidbey News Times May 2011 article “Whales will replace salmon near the Coupeville Wharf” by Nathan Whalen
June 2021 – Current’s Fire Recovery: As if COVID closures, loss of business and restricted occupancy, haven’t been bad enough, Coupeville’s Current’s Bistro was hit with a fire on April 24th 2021. After an unprecedentedly awful year of economic losses this funding will help with necessary deductibles and give owners Brian and Nancy a bit of financial relief in the form of strong community support. You can also safely donate to this fund through paypal.
