WOW – 2017 Gingerbread Workshop was a huge and fun success.
2018 Date is November 25th
At that time we will be including new aspects to accommodate more builders.
The Gingerbread Workshop is Coupeville Historic Waterfront benefit for the Gifts of the Heart Food Bank and a fun event for kids. The only cost to attend is at least one non-perishable food item per person attending. All supplies are provided by the Historic Waterfront and a list of generous community businesses and residents.
Every year we are pleased to be able to deliver lots of non-perishables and even cash from a food bank donation jar we put out.
Parents can even get some Red Ticket shopping done while the workshop goes on. IF you have a family member, or friend who can stay will your kids you can zip around town to shop (alone!) then squirrel the items away in the car before the kids get in to go home. Or you could just go to lunch without the kids. Your choice.
THE THANK YOU’S
For helping to insure we are able to provide the building kits to the community for free we THANK to our members and community friends, The Friends of the Coupeville Library, Janet Birchfield’s Front Street Reality, The Oystercatcher, the Whidbey News Times and sponsors who choose to remain anonymous.
We thank our Executive Director, Vickie Chambers, for her tireless work and inspirations.
AS ALWAYS – DRUM ROLL PLEASE – A SPECIAL and BIG THANKS to our volunteers who help make so many aspects and events in Coupeville wonderful. The Gingerbread Workshop is an especially wild event. It requires a decent amount of prep, 3 hours of gingerbread building mayhem, and then after the kids go home the clean up. Our volunteers lift and tote and leave the Rec Hall spic and span. THANK YOU!
By the way – If you’d like to volunteer for the Gingerbread Workshop go to our contact page and let us know. We’d love to have you join in the fun.
